Hermsen Family - Newborn

It would be impossible for me to choose a favorite image from this shoot, because I loved them all! What a precious family; one that recently welcomed a brand-new little bundle of joy. Tara came across my work on Facebook, browsed my portfolio, and said it inspired her to book with me…I’m so glad that she took the plunge! We hit it off right away, and I couldn’t get enough of their little crew. This beautiful mom and her husband met fourteen years ago, and have been married for five years. They welcomed Emmett four years ago, little Elena two years ago, and baby Evan made his grand entrance a month before this shoot. “This was my third pregnancy, an we had two toddlers, so it was hard to even remember I was pregnant sometimes”, shared Tara, “My husband wanted to be surprised by the gender since he was our last baby, but I couldn’t hold out! I found out and kept the secret, and was thrilled to see his face at the birth!”. They are an extremely active and involved family who loves spending time together, especially swimming and being in the outdoors. 

This is a special season for them, although it keeps them on their toes, and mom says her favorite thing is watching her babies “learn and grow. Every age and stage comes with new struggles, but also so many new joys!” One of their family’s core values is a spirit of learning, and they shared with me that helping their children find their passions is something very important to them. 

Some of my families who have a brand-new baby worry about the aspects of a newborn/family session. Tara was a bit apprehensive, because of having so many little ones and struggling with wanting everything to go smoothly, but I was delighted to hear that it went so much better than she had envisioned. “You are so reassuring and nice, and so great with the kids, so I was able to relax. You made us all feel welcome!”, she added. Thank you to this precious family for allowing me to capture your little ones…I had a blast!
