Is there anything better than a newborn baby? I have had the opportunity to play with these fresh new babies and give their families visible memories to have for the rest of their lives. Newborn sessions are some of my favorites and probably what I'm most known for in this area. I know it's hard to believe that these perfect little babes don't just curl up into these poses and look adorable on their own, but I promise I work my tail off during these sessions! For those of you that haven't experienced them first hand here are some details. For the 2-3 hours (yes that long) that the sessions take everything is all about the baby. Their comfort and happiness is my number 1 priority! My props and myself are often left wet, dirty or both, we take lots of snack breaks, I make sure the studio is nice and toasty warm. Parents and I are shedding layers so that my little model for the day is comfortable when we strip them down. They are usually content and occasionally I'll even catch one of those subtle dimply grins that newborns tend to flash just to melt our hearts even more.
Having a toddler now I understand how fast the days fly by. Especially those first few weeks when your exhausted and it takes every ounce of energy to simply exist. The images that I have of Carson as a newborn take me back to those days when you just want to sit and hold your baby for hours and take in every single inch of them. Their perfect pouty lips that quiver in their sleep, their tiny feet with paper thin nails, the fluffy hair that some are lucky enough to have from day one, their scent, the way their teeny tiny tush looks without a diaper... everything. They are all so different, yet all so perfect. I love babies, I love my job, and I love even more when my newborns get to come back to see me when they turn into ornery little toddlers.
