Shayler’s senior session was one of those that made me sigh with relief. After all, sometimes my guy seniors are hesitant to do a senior session at all, much less be enthusiastic about it. Sometimes, it’s just for their parents, and they are trying to just get through it. Not Shaylor. His energy and excitement made the experience a breath of fresh air, and he was so at ease! No stiff poses, no awkward moments…really just a senior being himself and having fun. He came ready to try different ideas, and that made for a session full of personality and real moments that truly reflect who he is. I so appreciated his laid-back attitude and big heart, and it made my job so easy.
One of the best parts of this session? How effortlessly everything flowed. Shayler and his family came in feeling totally prepared, which meant we could just focus on capturing his story. Exploring a new town together added a sense of adventure, and every shot felt natural. We laughed, we experimented, and we created photos that felt completely like him, no forced smiles, just genuine moments. He also did a great job putting together outfits that felt right for his personality and style, and they looked polished yet casual.
This bright and kind senior is the kind of guy who puts his whole heart into what he does. Whether it’s dominating on the football field as a two-time state champion, getting hands-on in shop class, or planning for a future in diesel mechanics, he’s all in, all the time! His drive and determination are seriously inspiring, and it’s clear he’s got big things ahead. I love hearing about the people who shape my seniors, and for Shaylor, that’s his Uncle Jim. They share the same passions, and Jim has set the kind of example Shayler is proud to follow. His love for farming runs deep, not just for the work itself but for the connections it brings, from working with new equipment to building relationships in the industry. It’s something unique to our area, and something that always makes my heart happy.
But it’s not all hard work; Shayler knows how to have fun too. He’s already got big post-graduation plans, including snowmobiling out west and checking out national tractor pulls. He’s the kind of guy who embraces life, and his advice to younger students? Time flies, so don’t wait to start thinking about your future!
Shayler, I can’t thank you enough for letting me capture this exciting season of your life. You’re hardworking, kind, and so full of life, and I have no doubt you’ll tackle the future with the same passion you’ve shown so far. If you’re a senior looking for a photo experience that’s fun, relaxed, and 100% you, let’s make it happen. I’d love to tell your story next!
