Choosing clothes for family pictures... such a daunting task for so many people! I LOVE to help and I wish I had the time to sit down with all of you individually but I just don't so I'm passing on some knowledge that will hopefully help for this upcoming season!
I tell people all the time to shop their own closets first! If you have something you love chances are it fits great and you look great in it too, which shows in your smile.
Choose the busiest outfit first. If your little girl wants to wear a fun patterned dress or mom wants to wear a cute floral top, choose those first and then pull colors from that to coordinate solids or simple patterns for everyone else.
Plan your accessories. Chunky necklaces or big earrings, hats and sunglasses, etc. They should compliment whatever style your going for, if that is muted and soft I would steer clear of a big hot pink hair bow or bow tie. Throwing on a big floppy sunhat for a few pictures might be what makes this season's pictures your most favorite ever.
I preach layering ALL THE TIME! Even in the summer! Layering doesn't have to mean a jacket and scarf or 3 long sleeved shirts. It provides unique texture and adds different colors and interest. I think this is especially important when your planning to do all solids. Throw on a waffle tee instead of plain cotton and it's a whole new look!
I'm looking forward to seeing all of my summer families and the different looks they come up with. Everyone always ends up looking perfect together! Please don't hesitate to ask if you're truly struggling with what to do. I will be more than willing to help you!
