The never ending winter... Has it always been this long? Or is it just exceptionally bad when you have little kids who can't get outside to burn off energy? I really thought we had a pretty boring winter, but looking back through pictures we actually packed a lot in these past few months inside! There were a few weekends nice enough that we were able to get out and enjoy the snow. When we had a brief warm up at the beginning of February we got the 4-wheelers out and the boys played in the mud. Piper got to spend those days napping in the truck but was able to get out for a bit and enjoy some fresh air! We made it up to the West Bend Ice Skating Rink (highly recommend for next year, hopefully we're done with the cold now!). Carson had a blast, needs A LOT more practice but kept coming back for more after every fall! I had to keep my shoes on so he didn't knock me down... also I'm a big fan of casts so there's also that! My nephew, Xander had his first birthday and Carson got to go to a dog show with his cousin Riggs. We got to go watch my niece, Alexis dance for drill team. We love family time and I love seeing my kids spend time with all of their cousins!
Carson turned 5 in February, you can read about his party and fun birthday weekend in Minnesota here. He was also a Humboldt Wildcat Wrestler this year! He loved it and is also still doing tumbling. Also...Kindergarten round up happened... HOW is this happening?!
Miss Piper is FINALLY getting her top two teeth. She's been working on these most of the winter. Just when I think they are finally through they disappear again. She continues to be a happy easy going baby, which has been a blessing since she still comes to work with me a few days a week.
After the last big blizzard we dug ourselves out of the house to get outside for about 20 minutes just to see ALL THAT SNOW! Carson thought it was awesome that we could walk over our fence. We kept busy with a blanket fort in the living room and sand castles dreaming of warmer days ahead! If you have kids and haven't tried the magic sand, you have to invest, it's AMAZING and I think it's less messy than play dough.
Reed and I are still pretty boring. He is busy working on getting a camper up to par for this summer. This is the first time in years that we skipped a house project, but he still has to keep himself busy with something. I'm glad we'll all benefit the fruits of his labor this summer. I have tried my hand at carpentry recently. I built my first bench and table. I don't have the pictures to prove it but if you come into my studio you'll be able to see my table soon. I plan to display all my books and albums on it. While we did have a lot of great times, I'm not going to lie, seeing the sunshine the last couple of days has made me so anxious for spring and all that comes with it!
