Some senior sessions just flow effortlessly, and this was definitely one of those! The weather was absolutely perfect, and my time photographing Isaiah was as smooth and easygoing as he is. He’s one of those naturally chill, go-with-the-flow kind of people, which made capturing his personality a breeze.
We started his session at the ball diamond—where his love for baseball first took root—and let me tell you, we created some epic shots. From action photos that showcase his talent to some cool, laid-back moments in sunglasses, his session was a perfect mix of athleticism and personality. And it’s no surprise that he felt right at home—after all, he’s spent his whole life surrounded by sports.
More Than Just a Game
Baseball isn’t just a sport for Isaiah; it’s a passion that’s shaped who he is. He’s been dedicated to multiple sports throughout high school, but baseball has a special place in his heart. So much so that he’s headed to Central College to continue playing at the next level—an incredible achievement that’s a testament to his hard work and commitment. Alongside baseball, he’ll be studying kinesiology, with dreams of becoming an athletic trainer or chiropractor one day (which, let’s be honest, is pretty fitting for an athlete!).
Lessons from High School
If he could give his freshman self advice? “Stop procrastinating and take more time to focus on the things you love.” He admits that in his early years, he didn’t put in as much effort as he could have—but he’s since turned that around, leading to better grades, a better mindset, and an even stronger work ethic.
While he doesn’t necessarily look up to anyone specific, he leads by doing. Whether it’s helping teammates or setting an example for those around him, he strives to be the best version of himself. His favorite Bible verse, John 13:7—“You may not know now, but later you will understand”—perfectly captures his mindset. He knows that sometimes life throws unexpected challenges, but trusting in God’s plan keeps him grounded.
What’s Next?
Beyond baseball and academics, his goals are refreshingly simple: get closer to God, work hard, and set himself up for a future where he can be financially comfortable (and maybe even retire early—big dreams, but we love it!).
When asked what he’d tell his friends about his senior session, his answer was straight to the point: “It was very easy and simple. Ideas were already set up, so it went smoothly.” And that’s exactly how it should be—stress-free, fun, and full of moments that capture who you are at this milestone moment.
Isaiah, it was an absolute blast photographing you. I can’t wait to see where life—and baseball—takes you next!
