Are senior sessions always special? Yes. Do I feel lucky every time I get to photograph a senior? Yes! But some are just a little different than others. From the start, Brooklyn was one of those unique seniors, making it easy to capture her personality. She told me afterward that she felt completely comfortable during our time together, which is literally what I hope for every senior I photograph. She loved the poses I guided her through and how natural the whole experience felt. Like many seniors, she had a small worry going in (wondering how her outfits would look) but once we got started, that concern quickly faded.
This adorable senior describes herself as a people pleaser, always putting others before herself. She’s also incredibly driven, and if she sets her mind to something, it’s obvious she’s going to work hard to make it happen. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, where she built lifelong friendships and memories she’ll always remember. She also played golf, a sport that taught her patience and persistence, two qualities that will serve her well in life. Her favorite subject was home economics because she enjoys hands-on learning and practical skills she can use beyond the classroom (to be honest, I think some of those skills should be taught to us adults! Ha!).
When asked who she looks up to the most, she didn’t hesitate…it’s her mom who is her biggest role model. She admires her for her hard work and selflessness, always putting others first. Those same values have shaped the way she sees the world. One cause that’s especially meaningful to her is safe driving. After experiencing incidents in her own life and within her family, she’s committed to always being careful on the road. She’s also learned an important lesson during high school: to be mindful of who she trusts, because not everyone has good intentions!
Looking ahead, she has big dreams. She plans to pursue a career in real estate, drawn to the excitement of exploring different houses and the variety the industry offers. She also hopes to travel and see the beauty of the world. Her favorite quote, “Just keep swimming,” is a reminder to keep pushing forward, no matter what obstacles come her way. If she could give advice to her younger self, she’d say to always keep going, even when times are tough, and never lose sight of who she is. It was such an honor to capture this milestone moment in her life. She’s not just a bright and determined young woman, I assure you she’s also kind, uplifting, and full of ambition. I have no doubt that whatever she sets her mind to, she’ll accomplish. I can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next.
