Great moments are born from great opportunities -Unknown
This quote embodies what most senior sessions feel like…a chance to capture someone in one of the biggest seasons of their life. The opportunity doesn’t come around all the time, and I feel grateful every time that it does. For Cyler, a Class of 2025 grad, it wasn’t just a senior photo session, it was a chance to celebrate everything he’s accomplished up to this point. He’s got personality, passion, and determination, and I loved capturing it all. Cyler came into his shoot with confidence and an easygoing attitude. He trusted the process, which honestly, I love.He told me he didn’t have any worries going in because he knew the photos would turn out great (yay!) and that trust means the world to me as a photographer.
One of the best moments in our session were the fire pictures. They were bold, dramatic, and absolutely striking. They always leave clients stunned, and these were no exception…the combination of wrestling and fire was so cool! Cyler also loved the locations we chose, and I have to say, they suited him perfectly. Whether we were capturing his athleticism, his personality, or just those classic senior portraits, every shot told a piece of his story. Speaking of his story…Cyler is the definition of a well-rounded, determined young man. He’s kind, smart, and persistent, always striving to include others, keep up his grades, and push through challenges. He’s been wrestling since he was three years old (yes, three!), making it a lifelong passion, and he also plays football, baseball, and golf. His love for sports isn’t just about competition; it’s about dedication and the discipline it takes to improve.
Academically, math is his strong suit. He enjoys it because it comes naturally to him, making it all the more fun to learn. He admires his dad the most, watching him work hard to achieve success. I always enjoy when seniors cite their parents as their biggest inspirations, because parents are always sacrificing so much in the background. One of the biggest lessons this sweet grad learned in high school is that you can’t always worry about what others think. It’s helped him feel more comfortable in his own skin; a lesson that so many of us could take to heart. If he could give advice to his freshman self, he’d say, “Just be yourself and get your stuff done.” Simple, but powerful words to live by (and literally, a reminder I need constantly!)
As far as the future, Cyler is still deciding on his career path, but finance or engineering are at the top of his list. Whatever he chooses, I have no doubt he’ll bring the same persistence and work ethic that have carried him through high school. After graduation, he’s dreaming of traveling across America to play at some of the country’s nicest golf courses. Sounds like an incredible adventure to me!
His favorite quote is one that fits him perfectly: “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we achieve excellence.” To me and his loved ones, that mindset is what makes Cyler such a great leader, he’s always striving to be his best, to help others, and to do the right thing. Cyler, wherever you go, I know you’ll make an impact. Wishing you all the success and adventure your heart desires!
