It’s a pretty exciting thing to share Owen’s session…not just because he’s an all-around awesome guy, but because he’s my nephew! Getting to do senior photos for someone you’ve watched grow up felt incredibly special (even if I feel a little old that he’s graduating!) It was a great session, full of plenty of laughter, which pretty much sums up our relationship!
From the first frame, this guy was completely himself. He said he felt comfortable and had no concerns going into it, which made things flow really naturally. When I asked him what he enjoyed most, he said the session was fun and quick. That’s Owen for you: simple, straightforward, and always chill. And if you ask him what he’ll tell his friends about the experience, he’ll probably say it was easygoing and totally worth doing. He’d definitely recommend me to others, which means a lot coming from someone who tells it like it is.
Owen describes himself as simple, go-with-the-flow, and someone with a good sense of humor. He doesn’t stress the small stuff and always manages to find something to laugh about. Being around him just puts people at ease; it’s something he’s amazing at. Throughout high school, Owen has stayed committed to wrestling, a sport he’s been passionate about since he was a kid. Those days of practice taught him discipline, perseverance, and leadership. Even though he leads quietly, his dedication sets an example for others. His favorite subject in school was PE, mostly because it came easily to him. He’s not one to overthink things, and he appreciates the simple wins. When it comes to role models, his parents are at the top of the list. They’ve always had his back, and that support has made a lasting impact.
This bright senior is passionate about two things: his friends and trucks. They’re his outlet, the things that keep him entertained and bring him joy. He’s also grounded in his faith. One verse that means a lot to him is, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2). He even got this verse tattooed, with his sister. It’s a powerful reminder that no matter what comes, he’s never alone. One of the biggest lessons he’s taken from high school is not to take everything so seriously. If he could talk to his freshman self, he’d say to enjoy that year because it’s the easiest and one of the most fun. That attitude shows his maturity and his ability to enjoy the moment.
Looking ahead, Owen doesn’t have a specific career path picked out yet. What he does know is that he wants to make money doing something he actually enjoys (YESSSS!). After graduation, he’s planning a well-earned vacation, and from there, he’s keeping his options open. Owen, getting to take your senior photos was more than just some senior photos..it was a proud aunt moment. I’ve watched you grow from a little boy into this kind, funny, grounded young man, and it honestly blows me away. You’ve stayed true to yourself, and I admire that so much. You’ve got such a good head on your shoulders, and I know you’re going to find your own path and do great things. I’ll always be cheering you on, and I feel lucky to be your aunt.
