Whenever people ask me how many times per year they should have family photos done, I always encourage them to book as many times as they can. I have many clients who book twice a year mini sessions, and others who do one mini and one larger shoot per year. This is often because they have little ones who change SO fast, and they want to be sure that they capture their changing faces and stages. We can always work with your schedule to decide how many shoots would be right for you and your family. Things to consider are:
- What will you be using your photos for? If you are booking these for holiday cards, birthday announcements or an invitation to a party, you'll want to book with advance notice.
- How many images are you hoping to receive? A full session will garner you more images than a mini, and with a little more variety because of a longer shoot. A full session would be perfect if you are looking to create a larger album or gallery wall in your home, etc.
- How comfortable will your kiddos be? Little ones are often capable of doing more than we give them credit for! I have had many toddlers do amazingly through an entire session, and others whom did better with a shorter, more compact session. Consider how your little ones may do for a longer session. I'm happy to provide tricks and tips!
- What style are you looking for? Be sure to consult with me, so I can let you know the general style or idea of a mini session, and see if it will fit with your vision. I love matching people with the sessions that will best meet their needs.
The Modlin family is such a delight, and I enjoyed working with all of them. They have the sweetest little ones, and the outfits they chose were perfect for this warm, seasonal session. We got so many beautiful images, and I think they really capture this stage of life with two young children, and how fast it moves.
