“To raise a child who is comfortable enough to leave you means you’ve done your job. They are not ours to keep, but to teach how to soar on their own. -Author Unknown
Watching your kids grow and mature is both exciting, joyful, and a bit scary. There is always a little bit of bittersweet mixed in with all the new milestones and memories of raising older children, and it seems to only hasten as they grow. Everyone says raising kids goes fast and as a mom of little ones, I know it’s definitely going much faster than I realize. This precious family needed updated family photos, since they’re celebrating their daughter’s senior year and graduation. I love that they made time to document their family in this unique time in life, and that they chose me to be their photographer!
Nicole and Jason have been married for twenty years, and together even longer. She is a hospice social worker, and Jason is beloved to their local middle school, where he teaches and coaches. They are mom and dad to Allison and Cameron, who are both teens. They are busy and active, and mom shares, “We are so busy, but we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have our whole family photos updated at the same time as her senior photos. We have two dogs who are important members of our family, and we wanted to make sure to include them! Although it’s only been three years since our last shoot, we can’t believe how much our kids have changed in that time.” As a family, they enjoy spending time together at the movies, or at concerts and musicals. “We make a priority of allowing one another to be authentically who we are”, adds mom, “We value spending time with those we love, and we try to be kind and helpful to others.”
I loved working with their sweet family, and am so excited for them as they step into this new chapter of life.
