The vivacious and adventurous spirit of high school senior Jordan recently unfolded in front of my camera lens! At just 17, her loyalty and compassion radiate, making her a true beacon of kindness in a world that really needs it! As I stepped into her world to do her senior photos, I was able to capture more than just senior photos and really tap into her journey.
Jordan's high school journey has been a melodic blend of activities (see what I did there?!), with band, choir, and musical theater playing pivotal roles. For her, band has been a close-knit community, especially in the school’s jazz band, where she's found a family of individuals who share her love for music. Theater, with its ability to push her out of her comfort zone, has opened doors to new friendships. Singing, a therapeutic experience, has made choir, and particularly all-state choir, an incredibly meaningful part of her high school life.
In the academic realm, Jordan’s true passion lies in art and English. As a former bookworm-turned-English enthusiast, the subject resonates with her in ways that set her apart. Likewise, her niche for creativity finds an outlet in art classes, serving as a therapeutic escape. Her mother, Lissa, stands as Jordan's ultimate role model; smart, encouraging, and talented. Beyond her personal life, Jordan advocates passionately for fine arts education in schools. Her concern for the constant de-funding of these programs stems from the belief that important life lessons are ingrained in fine arts education. She has learned a valuable lesson in high school: that appearances can be deceiving, and people often care more or less than they outwardly show.
Looking ahead, this amazing girl envisions a future involving art or music, driven by her passion for these areas. As a leader in her school's band, she actively participates in decision-making, contributing to the collective effort to ensure the band's success. Jordan's favorite quote, "Do it weird if it isn't hurting anyone," encapsulates her philosophy of embracing individuality, serving as a reminder that 'normal' is subjective (I love that!). As she steps into the world beyond high school, Jordan plans to continue her love for travel, emphasizing the importance of exploring new horizons. I loved working with her, and can’t wait to see how she makes her mark on the world!
