Well, after a lengthy, accidental lockout on Facebook and Instagram, I am hopefully getting back to all my social accounts! I was locked out of my accounts and haven’t been able to recover all of my access, so for some, I will be starting from scratch! If you own a small business or know someone who does, you know how important social media is to growing your brand and presence. In all honesty, I find keeping up with social media a necessary evil, in a way. I love the connection and the community, but I get overwhelmed with the comparison trap, and having to post so often! There’s a few ways you can help me and other small-biz creators on our socials (especially if they get their account hacked/locked out, like me!):
- Like, follow, and interact with posts. We truly appreciate you liking our posts or photos and in photography especially, it matters. Your likes and interactions push our posts to higher visibility, and make it easier for us to reach people who want to book with us. We love reading your comments and ideas, and really value every one of them! If you have a moment, leaving a comment is a great way to boost our posts!
- Share events or special offers: If we post about a sale or a special, please share it with your friends. Often, your friends haven’t heard about a special offer or a family mini session, and they may not know to book one. Your share means that they will be more likely to see it or recommend us to a friend of their own.
- Ask us how to help: If you ask, we usually have some recommendations for you about things you can do to help boost our rankings or analytics, and we would love to share them. Next time you see a friend with a small business, please ask! We love the help and support, and it reminds us that you haven’t forgotten about the hard work we are putting in behind the scenes. Also subscribe to email lists. Even if you don’t read them all, it really helps us to have them opened and enjoyed!
- Encourage us: It sounds silly, but many of us weathered a really tough few years during the pandemic, and it can feel really discouraging some days. If you think of it, send us a text or a note letting us know that you are thinking of us. And of course, recommend us to your friends and family who may be looking for our services.
Thank you for supporting my business, and always showing up here in my little corner of the internet! Stay tuned for news regarding how to follow us on a new Insta account.
